Canadian members of the force, responding to a request from U.N. police monitors, seized the weapons late Saturday from the station in Sanski Most, 93 miles northwest of Sarajevo, Maj. Brett Boudreau said. The peace force is authorized to confiscate and destroy weapons that are not used in standard police operations. The seizure Saturday included 10 82mm mortars, 45 rocket-propelled grenades, a number of small arms and a small quantity of ammunition. "Mortars are definitely not part of your standard police equipment,'' Boudreau said. ..... |
