MASSACRE OF CIVILIANS IN KORISA, MAY 15 1999
The village of Korisa, some five kilometers north of Prizren, on the
road to Suva Reka, will forever be remembered as the site of yet
another mass murder of civilians in the bloody war NATO is conducting
against the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. The latest crime that NATO
officials are trying to conceal and add to the list of "collateral
damages", involved the death of at least 79 ethnic Albanians - women
children and elderly - and the raid in which eight loads of cluster
bombs were used dozens of people have been lightly and severely
wounded.
According to the eyewitnesses, body parts of the wretched people were
flying all around. According to the first information, more than 50
people were killed, and more than 50 were gravely wounded. During the
day, NATO was also assaulting the rescue teams that were coming to aid
the people. Also, the investigation teams that were coming to exert
the insight and estimate the number of the casualties were restrained
by constant and repeated bombing of NATO aircrafts.
During the attack, more than 20 tractors which were carrying the
refugees during the previous day were destroyed. A couple of hours
after the massacre, many international news agencies` reporters got on
the terrain, so the pictures of the terrain with the tractors on fire
were published during the day..
